[Hong Kong Cuisine] Takisushi – Omakase-quality food and service at lunch set menu prices

[Hong Kong Cuisine] Takisushi – Omakase quality and service at the price of a value-for-money lunch set

When I’ve enjoyed a good meal, I find myself writing particularly quickly. A couple of days ago, I went for lunch with a couple of foodie friends at ‘Taki Sushi’, a Japanese restaurant in Causeway Bay. The standard was genuinely better than I’d expected, which is why I’ve been writing with such enthusiasm. I don’t usually have very high expectations of the food at lunch gatherings, as they’re mostly business-related—the sort where we joke about life whilst chatting about business. But the sushi set menu we had this time was of a very high standard, both in terms of the ingredients used and the service provided, so it’s well worth a brief mention.

The Ishikari soup comes with shichimi pepper and onions (and dried bonito flakes); I went to Causeway Bay for lunch and started with a portion of silken tofu salad.
