Last Friday evening on Metro Radio’s programme ‘Looking Back at Today’. The programme featured Issaya Siamese Club in Causeway Bay, ranked among Asia’s Top 50 Thai restaurants. The restaurant boasts a colourful interior design, with vintage furniture throughout, as well as a semi-open terrace offering views of Victoria Harbour, giving it a distinctly cosmopolitan and stylish atmosphere.
Lan Kittichai, a renowned Thai Michelin-starred chef, serves as Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok. Issaya, Bangkok’s first restaurant of its kind, has been named one of the ‘Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ for two consecutive years, whilst in Hong Kong,The first overseas branch. Issaya Siamese Club specialises in fusion cuisine combining Thai and Western styles, as well as dishes inspired by nearly lost royal recipes and authentic Thai street food.
The green curry prawn soup and red curry lamb saddle, cooked to order, are also excellent, whilst the Thai coconut pancakes are an absolute must-try for dessert. Other dishes, such as the Massaman curry lamb shank, roast pork ribs and jasmine milk pudding served with rice ice cream, are also very popular.
