I thought "Penghu" is a deserted island-like place, but it is not. There are big hotels of international group level, and there are also small hotels with good standard and sufficient facilities, run by Taiwanese locals. Last month, when we were in Penghu, we chose Hetian Harbour View Hotel in Penghu to stay. Hetian Harbour View Hotel is located in the old town area of Makung City, Penghu. Although it has more than 20 years of service experience, but the complete facilities, renovated hotel decoration, and attentive service level, left me a young feeling. (Or maybe it's because the boss is so pretty).
The location of Hetian Harbour View Hotel is not only convenient for living, but also allows visitors to easily reach every attraction in Penghu, and the service staffs here are all very experienced and warm, full of strong human touch. It is also the only hotel with SPA in Penghu. Every year from April to June "Fireworks Festival" because of the proximity to the performance venue, more tourists will choose to stay here.
Hotel Appearance and Facilities

The design of the hotel is simple and comfortable, with a clean environment. The lobby, furniture, and walkways on each floor feature rounded, curved lines rather than the traditional design of sharp corners, and the warm colours of the lighting add to the relaxing feeling.
The hotel has all the basic amenities, but there are also a few other thoughtful features and value-added services worth mentioning: travel advice, local itinerary recommendations and guide services are available here, making it a very convenient place to stay. If you don't want to carry your dirty clothes with you, there are self-service washing machines and dryers in the basement of the hotel, perfect for families.

In addition, the hotel hopes that every guest can relax and enjoy their holiday, so special emphasis is placed on the standard of food and beverage and service. Tea and coffee are available in the welcome hall on the ground floor, and a new private chef team, "Carrying Wei Cuisine", is stationed in 2016, so that guests can enjoy high-standard cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is also the Wojo-Spa service located on the ninth floor of the hotel. The hotel's proximity to the waterfront makes for a relaxing evening stroll with views of the sea.

Room Facilities and Hygiene

The corridors and rooms of Hetian Harbour View Hotel are decorated with photos of Penghu scenery, making it easy to relax and feel like a holiday, while my room at EAST HARBOUR VIEW has shell paintings. The guest rooms are designed with a strong southern style, featuring rattan furniture and dark coloured wooden furniture, making the rooms feel spacious. The beds are also very comfortable, with soft and firm mattresses that are said to be ergonomically designed, and soft down bedding.
The bathroom has a full range of wet and dry sanitary facilities, and was updated in early 2015, so it's brand new, with a sensor-activated, treatment-free toilet, a shower column with hydro-massage jets, and a spacious lapis lazuli masonry bathtub. Cleaning products are high quality imported shower gels and shampoos. In addition, the hotel promotes an eco-friendly concept, so replaceable personal toiletries (e.g. toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.) are not provided, but can still be obtained at the counter if needed.
Other basic items such as electric kettles, LCD TVs, tea sets, refrigerators, safes, and wireless internet are all available, in addition to capsule coffee makers for guests to enjoy at their leisure.

Each room has a window with an open view. Staying on the sixth floor or above, the room has a better view of the charming Penghu Sea and the harbour, and when the weather is good, you can even see Snakehead Mountain and Four Corners Lantau Island.

Located at the junction of Minquan Road and Zhongshan Road in the city of Ma Kung, the Hoten Harbour View Hotel is conveniently located near the city centre and various restaurants. There is a car rental agency next to the hotel, so it is convenient to rent a car or walk to the city attractions.
