[Hong Kong Food] Food Truck Festival @ PMQ, Central

On Saturday, I popped along to the Food Truck Festival for a bite to eat. As the venue wasn’t very big, there were actually only four food trucks and ten small stalls. After having a look round, the most tempting thing was this super-thick beef burger from BoomShack – the meat was tender and juicy, and I reckon it’s a must-try. The cheese-stuffed chicken waffle looked rather good too, but I decided to give it a miss today. The real shame was that the drinks on offer from the same food truck weren’t particularly appealing.
Then I popped over to the food van next door to buy another Lobster Roll, priced at $80. Being greedy, I went for the Double Lobster, which cost an extra $40, $120 for a tiny portion – I’d much rather go to Taikoo Place on Sunday to eat the one that’s pan-fried. On the other hand, adding $50 for a glass of Hoegaarden Rosé was quite tempting.
For dessert, I had a chocolate and sea salt biscuit sandwich filled with Sichuan-style spicy ice cream – a bit of a Western-style treat, and incredibly sweet. It cost $60, which wasn’t too bad.
