In 1997, towards the end of the 1990s, under the direction of Nike designer Eric Avar and his team, the Nike Air Foamposite One captured the attention of countless people with its unique seamless, fluid structure and sci-fi aesthetic. At the time, it was hailed as a “creation from outer space” and a “basketball shoe ahead of its time”, and was worn by NBA star Anfernee Hardaway.
