The boat to Gulangyu Island doesn't leave until 12pm, so I decided to try out the main shop of Xiamen's most authentic satay noodles, Sili. The shop is hidden in the vegetable market, so basically no tourists know about it, and the taxi driver asked me how I knew about it! There are both clear soup and satay, and dozens of toppings, including tofu, fish balls, pig's heart, seaweed, squid, and fried egg. .... They have all of them. When I asked my sister how many people would eat it, she asked me if it would be okay to pay $20 for a bowl of mixed food. I said no problem.
The satay soup is flavourful, the noodles are strong, and the ingredients are fresh. It is the best noodle snack in Xiamen, and the satay beef noodles in Hong Kong are not comparable, the only drawback is that there is more oil.
