\nI believe that visiting and shopping at the Hong Kong Food Expo in August every year is a summer programme for many people. In this exhibition, the organiser invited dozens of famous hotels and catering groups in Taiwan to participate in the gourmet exhibition, including Crystal Hotel Group, Cathay Business Travel, Shen Wang Hotel, Fuhua Hotel, Huatai Hotel, Luk Fook Tourism Group, Lao Yeh Hotel Group, Guobin Hotel Group, Meifu Hotel, Tien Shing Hotel Group, and Shing Pin Travel, etc. The organiser also invited 17 famous chefs to give a culinary demonstration to showcase their exquisite and delicious cuisines. The theme of this year's food fair is to showcase the diverse and colourful food culture of Taiwan. In addition to the star-rated cuisine of the hotels, the Taipei City Department of Commerce and the Taipei Business District Industry Association, in order to promote the many speciality food districts in Taipei, have set up a \"Taipei Business District Multi-Gourmet Pavilion\", which has a food street specialising in four major types of shops, namely Taiwanese speciality pop-up snacks, Chinese food, exquisite desserts and European delicacies.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Snacks such as the best pig's blood cake in Taiwan sold by Pig Dailang, grandmothers' traditional Chinese rice bowl kuey teow at Nanfang Mizo, 30-year-old roasted corn at Carbon Corn, the famous oyster omelette at Shilin Zhongcheng Hao with 43 years of history, and the must-try summer food Vermicelli Aiyu at Shilin Wangji Frogs Laying Eggs; Chinese food such as Beitou specialities of ShuiMei Hot Springs Club; drunken prawns and drunken chicken at Chilled Hot Spring; braised beef noodles at Royal Heritage, which insists on using fresh Taiwanese beef and carefully selected beef from Australia; exquisite desserts such as drunken shrimp and drunken chicken at Jiujiang Hot Spring; and the specialities of Beitou cuisine at Royal Heritage. \nUnlike Hong Kong's food fairs, they have more live food production, and the whole food street is full of authentic open-flame food that is fried and steamed right in front of you. The chefs are steaming and frying dumplings right in front of you, and you can enjoy their cooking performance while enjoying the food, which is an eye opener for me. Each dish was just a few tens of Taiwan dollars, and YoYo card holders could even redeem a free Gourmet Showdown Coupon! Another special feature of this year's food court is that the food court is environmentally friendly, with no disposable, non-washable utensils being used, and people are encouraged to bring their own cutlery and containers to serve their food.<\/p>\n

In order to let the public and travellers taste the nostalgic and authentic flavours of Taiwan in the Taiwan Food Fair, the theme of the event was \"100+ Must-taste Tastes from Old Restaurants\", with 100 classic Taiwanese dishes and a number of famous old restaurants with over 20 years of history, such as Gao Ji, Duo Xiao Yue, Noodle Fresh, Lao Jin Long, and Master Tang's Kung Fu Cuisine, etc., being invited to participate in the fair. I think the most special feature of the exhibition is \"Tou Siu Yue\", which reproduces the scene of noodle stalls carried on a stretcher with paper lanterns and selling along the street more than 100 years ago. \"With their century-old \"noodle stall spirit\", Tou Siu Yue insists on using old-fashioned cooking methods to prepare delicious bowls of danzai noodles, which is exactly in line with the theme of the event, which is to let the public taste the old traditional flavours. Under the theme of \"Food Journey\", the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) organised the 3rd \"Railway Lunchbox Festival\" at the Food Showground, inviting more than 10 exhibitors from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and the first-time participant, the Swiss Glacier Railway, to participate in the event, among which, a number of Japanese railways, with which the TRA has established a friendly relationship, already accounted for 10 of the exhibitors. As we all know that Japan is very mature in the development of this convenience, this exhibition added more lively atmosphere to the \"Railway Convenience Festival\". During the exhibition period, when Taiwan's staple and secondary food ingredients are in full production, Taiwan's Council of Agriculture's \"Colourful Agricultural Pavilion\" under the theme of \"Food Ingredients\" showcased Taiwan's finest agricultural and fishery products as well as agricultural excellence. There were a lot of sweet and juicy fruits and seasonal vegetables, such as different varieties of pumpkins, Taichung pineapples, Nantou dragon fruits, guavas, pears, bananas and so on. At the end of the day, I went to the exhibition area with the theme of \"Food Companion\" and bought some famous souvenirs from different counties and cities in Taiwan to take home, which was a great experience.
\nIt is also worth mentioning that apart from the food exhibition, there is also an exhibition unit entitled \"Food Ware\", which displays some exquisite food wares designed by Taiwanese craftsmen for the public to visit and purchase on-site. In the \"Food for Parenting\" section, there were also activities such as parent-child kitchens and food-saving cooking to promote parent-child interaction and the concept of \"food saving\" to the next generation.
